Mind Set Go (MSG) | An Anaïd and AMI (accessible media incorporated) production in partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee.
“Mind Set Go is an authentic, observational human-interest documentary series where participants come to understand how negative sociological and psychological coping behaviours impact their health. This documentary series also serves as a natural platform to showcase stellar Paralympians, introducing them to Canadians and the world as they share their incredible stories of perseverance and success. The common experiences between our participants and the Paralympians prove that everyone faces obstacles in life—regardless of ability. It’s how you respond to these roadblocks, and meet life’s challenges, that make all the difference.” Anaïd Productions (MSG)

Brought on board from its inception, Ness (Murby) started working with Anaïd productions and AMI as part of the Mind Set Go vision in 2017. Ness featured in both seasons one and two as a Paralympian inspire-partner to two participants and in the third season’s launch event in Vancouver. There’s far more that goes into a project behind the scenes than one may think: brainstorming, story boarding, participant case study, approach analysis, the actual filming, and then there’s the journey to the final cut.

When asked about their personal Mind Set Go approach, Ness said “It’s really important to realise that you’re not just working with the physicality of the person’s journey. Body is an obvious component but everything starts from a mindset. Accepting the participant’s “now” state, addressing what limiting beliefs are holding them back, is the key to them shifting that mindset for themselves.”
Participant and Paralympian spend one day together and what is achieved in that day is entirely different for each setup. With Ness, it was 12hours on set working with the participant through conversational exchange and coaching (both mental and physical). “I was given a background profile for the participant from which I gained a loose understanding of their backstory. I noted some life themes I wanted to explore with them and I also prepared a personalised workout challenge for us to do together. Other than that everything happens on the day,” said Ness.
THAT’S A WRAP. At the end of the day’s shoot, Paralympian and participant part ways. Armed with insights, yet once again tasked with the accountability to change, the participant must go their own path for the final weeks of their Mind Set Go journey. Will they choose TOUGHERthan?!
